I was chosen to take a look at an online 3D virtual world for kids. Jumpstart.com really is a wonderful online tool that teaches kids to have fun, be creative and enjoy learning!
Now, I will admit, when I first realized that there is a membership fee to have full access to all the games provided, I was a bit discouraged. However, I was asked to give an honest review and well, here it is:
First, here is some background on the company:
My daughter loves this site. She is 6 years old and I feel, the perfect age for games like these. This has been the perfect game site to have access to over the summer because while school's out, not only does she have me reading with her and trying to keep her fresh on math and spelling, she now has JumpStart to keep learning fun. (I was told I'm kinda boring, haha)
I work from home and my job requires me to be online. My children see me working on the computer so of course they want to 'work on the computer' too. With JumpStart, I have no apprehension about allowing them to be online playing games. I know what kind of games they're playing and in only a week, I've seen my children learn and grow with JumpStart.
There is so much on the site, it took the week to check out all the games and activities. The games keep the attention o kids no matter what age and no matter what the personality. I know, I have 3 kids ages 2, 3 and 6 and they all love JumpStart - I definitely recommend this site to all parents.

For more than 15 years, Knowledge Adventure has set the standard in kid’s software by creating the finest educational products for use in the home and the classroom. In addition to their CD games, they’ve launched a beta version of their first browser-based virtual world, at www.JumpStart.com, for kids 3-10 years old.
Kids can create avatars called Jumpeez for themselves and explore magical worlds, discovering and unlocking games, videos, and storybooks that help them practice essential skills from math to reading. Over the next year, we will continue to add more features, portals, and learning games to this site.
